About Khilkhet Technical College (KTC)

KTC was established on 25 January, 2005 with a view to operating mid-level academic courses on SSC (vocational) & HSC (business management & technology ) science , technology & business management. Since then KTC has been successfully operating various  academic courses. This is a full fledged technical college which is offering science, technology & business management based education. KTC is absolutely free from student politics & students’ union in order to maintain proper academic environment.

KTC is a private college. The college is affiliated with Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Dhaka.

Objectives:

Wide expansion of science, technology & business management is the demand of the age in order to meet the challenge of the 21st century. Enormous employment opportunities are being frequently created in these sectors. But it is our ill luck that we are in backward position in respect of science, technology & business management based education in comparison to other countries. While there is a serious scarcity of skilled manpower in our country, the number of unemployed people having general education is increasing very rapidly. Traditional system of general education can not produce skilled manpower. As such operation of academic courses based on science, technology & business management with a view to creating skilled manpower is the objective of KTC.

Academic Programs

1. On-going:

The following courses are in operation now in KTC:

SSC (vocational):

# IT Spots & IOT Basic : 2 years course affiliated with BTEB. 1 st shift & 2 nd shift.

# General Electrical Works : 2 years course affiliated with BTEB. 1 st shift & 2 nd shift.

HSC (Business Management & Technology) :

# Computerized Accounting System : 2 years course affiliated with BTEB.

# Financial Practices : 2 years course affiliated with BTEB.

# Digital Technology In Business : 2 years course affiliated with BTEB.

# E-Business : 2 years course affiliated with BTEB.

2. Proposed:

KTC plans to introduce the following courses in phases:

# Diploma in Civil Engineering :4 years course affiliated with BTEB, Dhaka.

# Diploma in Electrical Engineering :4 years course affiliated with BTEB, Dhaka.

# Diploma in Computer Engineering :4 years course affiliated with BTEB, Dhaka.

Number of students:

Classes of KTC started on 01 July 2005 with 27 students. At present nearly 350 students have been studying in KTC.

Laboratories:

KTC has the following well-equipped laboratories:

*Electrical & Electronics Lab.

* Natural Science (Physics & Chemistry) Lab.

*Computer Engineering & Technology Lab.

* Engineering Drawing Lab.

Free Internet Browsing:

Full time internet connections are available in the Computer Lab. The students can use the internet at any free time without any charge.

Library:

KTC has a rich library. The students can study in the library. They can also borrow books from the library.

Teaching & Examination Systems:

The merits of the students are assessed through class tests, tutorials, quiz, oral tests, attendance & continuous assessments. For the control of examinations KTC has a separate section consisting of Controller of Examinations & some Deputy Controller of Examinations. Intensive & Supervised teaching methods are followed. As a result there is no need for a student to go to a private teacher. In order to develop the standard of education & ensure accountability of the faculty members, the students are to fill up Teachers' Evaluation Forms (TEF). Scholarships are awarded to the students occupying from 1st to 3rd positions in the merit list in 1st year examinations. Prizes are awarded on the basis of attendance of students in classes from 1st year & 2nd year. Moreover in every year a student is selected as the 'Student of the year' and is rewarded with a medal, crest and certificate of honor.

Recreation, Sports & Co-curricular Activities:

In order to prepare the students to face the challenge of the working lives the following 09 (Nine) clubs are operated side by side of academic curriculum:

KTC Computer Club

KTC English Language Club

KTC Debating Club

KTC Literature & Cultural Club

KTC Science & Technology Club

KTC Magazine Club

KTC Games & Sports Club

KTC Quiz Club KTC Meditation Club.

The students are not to pay anything for attending these clubs. Classes on English are held in order to make the students fluent in English. Apart from observing various National Programs, Annual Picnic, Nain Baron, Farewell Ceremony. Sports, Extempore Speech & Debating Competitions both in Bangla & English are held on different occasions. Bangla Wall Magazine, English Wall Magazine & Little Magazine are published regularly.

Residential facilities:

There is a Students' Welfare Officer whose one of the tasks is to solve the accommodation problem of the students .Separate messes for male & female students are available around KTC.

Class Rooms:

KTC has sufficient class rooms & multimedia class rooms.

KTC Job Searching Center:

KTC Job Searching Center headed by a Job Searching Officer is operated in KTC in order to provide the job-seeking students free of cost with up-to-date information of jobs using internet & print media.

KTC Students Net:

Admission in Foreign Universities in USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Finland, Sweden, Malaysia, Ireland, Cyprus, New Zealand, Poland, Lithuania & other countries including visa processing are done without any service charge.

Conclusion:

When a student joins the KTC, he/she joins the students from all corners of Bangladesh having a common dream of getting proper education & finally a good employment.
